Meet Chef Pete Ghione

We would like to introduce the newest member of The Black Kat team…Chef Pete Ghione!

Chef Pete Ghione started his cooking career 22 years ago in Shelton, CT where he held two jobs simultaneously while in high school prior to graduating from New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, VT.  During culinary school, he completed two internships, one in Booth Bay Harbor, ME and the second in Napa CA.  After graduation, he moved from Napa, CA to take on Las Vegas, NV.  At the age of only 26 he was promoted to Executive Chef of the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. During his time there he was one of five chefs on Team Las Vegas, that took home a silver medal, in the World Culinary Olympics in Erfurt Germany.

After 7 years with Caesars Entertainment, Chef Pete began working at Dragon Ridge Country Club in Henderson, NV.  It was here where Chef Pete started working with organic ingredients to benefit the members of the Country Club.  After building a close relationship with a Doctor who specializes in preventative health care, Chef opened his own organic restaurant and really began to specialize in nutrition and inspire people to eat healthy and lose weight.

After the restaurant business, Chef began another mission as a private chef and started to specialize in preparing meals with a healthy purpose.  A major focus of his was cooking for cancer patients and those recovering from cancer.  After 3 dedicated years of private cooking and building a website based on foods that fight cancer, Chef was recruited to open his first major casino in downtown Cincinnati, OH where he was also featured in an article in Esquire magazine.  After a successful opening, Chef moved to a casino in Quad Cities, IL to gain more of a work and life balance as he raised his daughter as a single father.  In September of 2015 Chef was given an amazing opportunity to work for Canyon Ranch Spa Club in Las Vegas, NV and operate 2 organic restaurants and again regain his passion for cooking food with a healing, healthy purpose.

Chef Pete has been able to share his passion of eating healthy in many magazines, has been on all major news network in Las Vegas as well as making TV appearances in Salt Lake City, Utah, Denver, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio.

We are truly excited for the opportunity to bring Chef Pete, and his 22 years of culinary experience, to The Black Kat!
